Through yoga we can open up the mind to wisdom and joy. Through practicing the sun salutations and doing asana correctly, we can heal the body from physical (desika), mental (manasika) and spiritual (adhatmika) illnesses and lead a happy life.

Surya Namaskara A has NINE (9) vinyasas.
1. ekam (inhale)
2. dve (exhale)
3. trini (inhale)
4. catvari (jump back, exhale)
5. panca (inhale)
6. sat (exhale) 1-2-3-4-5
7. sapta (inhale, jump)
8. astau (exhale)
9. nava (inhale)
samasthitih

Surya Namaskara B has SEVENTEEN (17) vinyasas

3. trini (inhale)

We establish the physical and mental techniques (vinyasa, sound breathing, drsti and bandhas) that continue throughout the whole practice. The sun salutations are a simple and safe series of poses that heat up the body and create a sweat that starts the purification process. The heat keeps the body warm, making it safe to move through new asanas.
