Sunday Funday! I took a workshop of three hours (9-12 AM) of Aerial Yin Yoga with Hammocks, together with my niece (she is the daughter of my mom's sister and she is only one year younger as I am).
This workshop was all about releasing, deep relaxation, letting go, heart opening, turning inside, self-healing and letting go - letting go - letting go.
We were with six people (again, women only) and during the asanas (which you hold for about 5 minutes) the teacher talked about the chakras, meridians, how to release tension in the body, how not to judge your thoughts and we all breathed deep and took big, big, big, juicy breaths. We did fish pose, this was a very deep stretch and I felt so much resistance in my body and in my mind, and breathing was difficult. One woman started to cry and at first I was worried for her but then I thought: this is good, this is about letting go. I wanted to cry too but I couldn't.
During one asana, the teacher explained how that pose is about recognizing your patterns and your behavior. You've created and styled your life a certain way, but maybe it is time to question it. Are you still happy with your job, with your partner, your friends, your home? Don't be afraid to question your choices. And know that there are always other options. You have the right to choose differently. It is your life.
