Ha, what a nice weekend it is.
Yesterday - Saturday - I had a traditional Ashtanga rest day. I slept until 6.30, washed my hair, went out to drink tea and eat apple pie, I talked with a friend for hours, did the laundry, took a nap on the couch in the afternoon, did some cleaning, some reading, listened to music (Strong by London Grammar is one of my favorite songs now) and went to bed at 10 PM.
I had plans for Sunday. I would get up early to join the 8.30 AM Ashtanga Led Class in my studio. I had talked about it with the current substitute teacher: I wanted to know what I needed to do after Navasana and the class continues with the full primary series, as I only practice half of them. She had assured me that it is no problem I only practice half; after Navasana I continue on my own doing backbending and so on.
But I got up at 7.15 AM, made a large bowl of soy yogurt, banana and granola and ate it all. When I was finished, I thought: No, what did I do? I ate it all and class starts in an hour. Not so smart. I didn't think my practice would go well with a full stomach.
I waited until 9.30 AM and started my own practice. I only did the standing postures and when it was 10.15 AM I jumped on my bike and cycled to the studio to join a Yin Yoga Class.
Yin Yoga for me is relaxed and painful at the same time. Yin Yoga for me is meditative. Next to me was heavily pregnant woman. There was a lot of talking during class and there was music played, which I found annoying at the beginning, but later I enjoyed it, especially when some poses are held for minutes.
After the class I felt satisfied and hungry. I had lunch and walked around town till I met a friend who asked me to join him for drinks.
No class tomorrow since it is going to be Full Moon.
