This morning, at 6 AM. My mat in my bag on my back, and me and my sleepy head on my bike. I took a turn and there he/she/it was: The Moon. It was full and gigantic and I said WOW out loud. I wanted to turn around and go back home to wake up my BF and show him this enormous and bright Moon but I did not. I rode my bike to the studio for my practice.
We were with only women, there was not a single man to be seen. I wondered if it had something to do with the full moon. The atmosphere in the shala was warm and soft; I think the energy is different when it is women only.
When I got to Marichasana D, the teacher helped me. My right knee hurt a bit and I could not bind. I complaint to her about my right hip being stiff. She smiled and nodded. She started talking and explaining yoga. How we are stiff from sitting all day at chairs and in cars.
'I don't drive,' I wanted to say but I didn't.
'That's why we practice yoga. Because we are stiff,' she said.
I heard her say the beautiful word EVENTUALLY. This got me hopeful. Eventually my right hip will become flexible too. I have to be patient.
She said: 'Yoga is about balance. Balance between left and right, between strength and flexibility, between the inhale and the exhale. When we practice yoga, there is no yesterday, no tomorrow, there is just the now. '
She smiled again, tapped my knee and stood up to help another woman. She left me feeling blessed, again.
