So, this week I went four times to a Mysore Class in a top of the bill yoga studio with a professional shala (I don't think the words shala and professional match, but hey), where it is warm and candles are burning, where dedicated yogi's unite, the energy is high and certified teachers teach. I think it's a Mysore heaven and I am blessed since this place is near my home and I have a job which working hours (8.30 to 17) give me the opportunity to practice before work.
Today I went to a Led Class Ashtanga in another yoga studio. This studio is also a very nice place and the people are very much into yoga, but now I know the Mysore Class in the other studio, I suddenly see things differently. There were two new people, two girls who chatted during class. I could not believe my ears (..). Talking during a Led Class? This was new to me. I got annoyed. I looked at the teacher and I saw he was annoyed too, but he didn't mention it.
My energy was low, I thought the room was too cold, the counting went slow and I started drifting off, thinking about the sunny weather outside and what I was going to do with my Saturday. When Class was over, I thought: well, this could be the last time I visited this studio. This is not my space, nor my crowd anymore. I am with the Mysore People now. This looks like some snobby behavior from my side. Not very yoga-like, I presume.
